Floor Heating

One of the most common and effective installations of radiant floor heating, is by way of a thin slab commonly known as a gypcrete type application.

Infloor heating can be installed directly on top of the subfloor by stapling the tubing down to the sub floor, then having 1-1/4” to 1-1/2” of gypcrete (a gypsum based lightweight concrete) to provide thermal mass.

Gypcrete systems can be used in many different situations, because it can be installed on top of subfloors, concrete slabs, whether existing or new.

A Gypcrete system provides enough thermal mass to maximize the efficiency of a system without sacrificing too much response time.  These systems are one of the most common systems installed and can accept almost any floor covering.
