Floor Heating

One of the most cost effective ways to install a radiant heating system is to embed the tubing in a concrete slab.

If the project will use a concrete slab or basement slab it’s very important to utilize exterior perimeter insulation as well as under slab insulation. The tubing is attached to a 6 x 6 welded wire mesh using plastic or wire ties. The tubing inches on center should be determined by a calculated heat loss.

These systems are inexpensive to install, since the concrete is already being poured and is a very good thermal mass.  If you are considering installing an in-slab system, be sure to view our Residential Design & Installation Guide on the downloads page or click below for detailed installation instructions.
